From driving along the Saint-Lawrence River via Route Saint-Lawrence and gazing at the beautiful crater walls that encompass the meteor-formed region to surrounding yourself in the serene nature-driven cabins, it’s proximity to Quebec City (1.5 hours) makes the region of Charlevoix a must visit for vacationers.
MAIKIN Ourselves at Home:
The MAIKAN, which means wolf in innu, is a Scandinavian-inspired, minimalist refuge that packs a big punch! This micro-cabin has everything you could possibly need in a getaway accommodation that’ll make you question why we need overly-large homes in the first place. The MAIKAN comes equipped with a queen size bed, a table for 3, a fully-functional kitchen with enough cutlery to host Christmas dinner, a mini-fridge and other necessary appliances and most importantly, WI-FI! Yes, all the cabins at Repère Boréal have WI-FI; I can already see you alerting your loved ones you can Instagram story your entire stay here without worrying about using your data! But the real crown jewel of the MAIKAN is the panoramic glass window which allows you to gaze out into the surrounding forest and up into the stars while you lay in one of the most comfortable beds we’ve slept in that wasn’t our own!
OH, AND NOT ONLY CAN YOU BRING YOUR DOG; HE CAN HAVE A FRIEND ACCOMPANY HIM TOO! Yes, you are allowed to bring two pets!
Our Experience:
Our experience at Le Repère Boréal was amazing to say the least! The Scandinavian-inspired cabin exceeded our expectations. The staff was extremely friendly and very accommodating, the grounds provided everything you needed with the bathroom and spa being less than a minute walk from every cabin. It really is a great place to get away, disconnect from the city and reconnect with nature!
